Loma or Pico Diego de Ocampo is the summit of the mountain range that occupies the northern part of the island and which stretches from MonteCristi, west, to Nagua, east. Located at the geographical boundaries of the municipalities of San Jose de Altamira, Santiago, and Villa Gonzalez. It is named in honor of the rebel slave or black cimarrón rebelled against the Spanish colonies in the 1500s.
A natural attraction, with a height of 1249 meters above sea level, from where you can have a 360º visual of all the Cibao Valley, part of the northern slope of the Cordillera Central and its peaks, including the Duarte peak, as well as the mountain system of the Septentrional mountain range surrounding it up to the Atlantic Ocean.
